FAQs

Why should we choose the stars?

We understand that wedding bands don't come cheaply, and we don't take this commitment lightly. When we turn up to your wedding, we bring not only our combined 80+ years of live music experience and extensive qualifications, but more importantly: the commitment to playing with all the energy, enthusiasm and craic that we possibly can.

We are very proud that our reviews across all platforms reflect this, so you don't have to take us at our word, but read what our clients have to say about us on our reviews page.

how many people in the band?

There are five musicians in the band playing drums, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboard and electric guitar. Four of us sing, so you can expect lots of vocal harmony and craic! We also bring a sound engineer to ensure we sound as good as possible, every gig.

How long is the band show?

Our typical show lasts about 2.5 hours, with a short break in the middle as the refreshments are served. We can also forgo the break and play for 2 hours straight through, should this suit the schedule better.
We’re well used to speeches or service delays causing events to run slightly off-schedule, and will liaise with the venue staff to make sure things run smoothly.

is it the same musicians every show?

The Stars are a tight-knit group of musicians, but as the pandemic showed us, certain problems can arise that may necessitate a change in line-up. To deal with this, both Aengus and Paul are trained to take up the top-hat and lead the show, and we have reliable and talented deputies if illness or disaster should prevent any of us from making it.
We'll happily let you know which one of us will be singing on your big day and arrange for you to see them perform before your date, if possible.

Can we choose the music?

We have an extensive catalogue of music to cater for all ages and tastes, and if you let us know your preferences we can do our best to accommodate you! However, due to the high volume of weddings we play, it's not possible to learn a new set of songs for every gig. Of course, we will happily learn your choice of First Dance and Father/Daughter dance.
